Orphanage Visitation

On the 8th of October 2011, 18 Leo club members visited Rumah Kasih Harmoni, an orphanage based in Rawang. The event kicked off at 9 am and ended at 12 noon when the children went off to take their afternoon nap. The day consisted of getting to know the children and spending some quality time with them while playing football, drawing and colouring.

Peace Poster Competition

On the 2nd of October Leo members lent helping hands towards the Lions club of PJ Mutiara during their 24th annual international Peace Poster competition. The event took place from 9 am to 2pm and consisted of 3 ages groups.

PAWS visitation

The visitation to PAWS took place on the 26th of September. Leo members who's arms weren't too sore from skytrex the day before graced the occasion. This semesters visitation did not involve painting the walls of the animal shelter. However, members took time to play with the animals and clean out the enclosure as well.

Skytrex adventure

Held on the 25th of September, the Skytrex adventure was a chance for Leo members to get their adrenaline pumping and get rid of their fears. OC Jeffrey and his committee made sure everyone had fun and no one got left behind while getting through the obstacle course.

Go Green Week

Go Green Week was held in tandem with Health Awareness Week from the 19th to the 23rd of September. GGW aimed at increasing awareness about environmental issues and also aimed at promoting practices which are beneficial to the environment such as reducing the usage of plastic bottles and conserving energy by ensuring power sources were switched off when not in use.

Health Awareness Week (19th - 23rd September)

Health Awareness Week was held from the 19th of September to the 23rd of September in the concourse area (in front of Audi1) of Monash University Sunway Campus. There were 4 events, a Breast Cancer Awareness talk by the Breast Cancer Welfare Association of Malaysia, Blood donation campaign held in association with Pusat Darah Negara, eye screening by ISEC and health screening by the National Kidney Foundation of Malaysia.

Orientation, Induction and Installation (27th Aug. 2011)

Orientation and induction of new members into Leo club MUSC and installation of the new board, was held on the 27th of August 2011. Newly elected vice president David Cheong was the organizing chairperson and along with his committee made sure the event was a sure success.

Fellowship dinner =)

The events for semester 2, 2011 kicked off with a fellowship dinner with organizing chairperson Kelvin Low making sure everything went without a hitch. The fellowship was held so that all members of Leo Club MUSC new and old could get to know one another. Held on the rooftop above the library, the evening started off with an ice breaker session led by vice president David. After everyone had fed their hungry stomachs, the organizing committee oversaw a number of games that had everyone trying to solve cryptic drawings while searching for bottle caps all over Monash.
