Background:
PAWS (Paws Animal Welfare Society) was founded in 1987 by a small group of local and expatriate volunteers. Through their generosity and imagination, PAWS was constructed on a patch of land owned by Sime Plantations on the Subang Airport Road. Objectives:
- Render services to the community
- To have compassion for animals
- Foster relationship with helpers at the PAWS Animal Welfare Society Centre
- Foster a connection between participants and animals
- Fellowship among members in the Leo Club
The event commenced with the registration of the members as soon as they arrived in Monash University at 8.45am. Then, by 9.00am, all the volunteers traveled to PAWS by 2 cars driven by 2 volunteers. After reaching PAWS, all the participants were required to register with PAWS as volunteers. The volunteers were then instructed to walk and bathe the dogs. After the volunteering service in PAWS, the volunteers headed back to Monash University.
